Facebook broadening it's horizons

If you take a look at your favourite news site, you will find that it is currently plastered with Facebook's latest acquisition spree. Within the past week, Facebook forked out $2bn for the acquisition of Oculus VR, which was developing the Oculus Rift.

The Oculus Rift is a virtual reality headset that has been popular amongst gamers since it has been announced. It contains motion detectors and a 720p display making it feel like you're inside the game.

Not only this, but Facebook has also acquired Ascenta, an aerospace company. Zuckerberg plans to use this to provide drones that allow internet access in rural areas. This is to follow suit of Google which announced it was going to use balloons to provide internet access to these rural areas.
